Classes

Welcome to the Classes in Shaiya.
As i said, AoL and UoF Classes vary in many ways, but they are also similar in many ways. The names might sound different, they may look different, but their goal is the same:
Defeat the opposite fraction!

AoL Classes

Human - Fighter

The Fighter is your standard melee combatant. Up close and personal is how the Fighter prefers confrontation. Physical attack power is the focus of the Fighter, but don’t be fooled. A certain amount of Magical Points (MP) is needed to power the Fighter’s devastating Special Skills.

Characteristics:

- Wide range of available weapons - Powerful physical attacks - Front-line brawler - Automatically gains +1 to Strength (STR) each level.

Human - Defender

The Defender is a tank. Defenders have high stamina and high hit points, enabling them to take a beating, but still stay standing. Unlike Fighters, Defenders can take on multiple foes at the same time with little worry. Defenders also have the ability to provoke enemies into attacking them, a useful skill when in groups.

Characteristics:

- Uses shields, one-handed swords, and blunt weapons - High vitality and stamina - First into the fray - Automatically gains Reaction Defense boost and HP (+1 to REC) each level.

Human - Priest

Relying on the spiritual nature of humans, the Priest is a true healer. The Priest uses healing magic to keep him / herself and party members healthy during battle. Priests can resurrect the dead, an extremely useful skill for keeping fallen comrades around. Priests also have a high resistance to magical attacks, making them a threat to Pagans.

Characteristics:

- Curing powers - Ability to transform allies into powerful monsters - Ability to transform enemies into harmless animals - Automatically gains + 1 Wisdom each level.

Elf - Ranger

The Ranger uses knowledge of the forest and the wilds to blend into the surroundings. Stealth and deception are the trademarks of a good Ranger. Ambush and evasion are staples of combat as a Ranger. They also know how to frighten some monsters away. Rangers can disguise themselves as harmless creatures, further enabling their stealth.

Characteristics:

- Uses short blades and claw weapons - High evasion ability - Stealth and disguise - Automatically gains +1 DEX per level.

Elf - Archer

Striking from a distance helps keep Archers out of harm’s way. Archers use ranged attacks to wound and slow the enemy as well as lower its attack power or stop it in its tracks. Special skills of the Archer allow them to literally rain arrows down upon their targets. Archers also have Lady Luck smiling down on them, enabling them to make critical.

Characteristics:

- Uses bow, crossbow, javelin, and short swords - Distanced attacks - High accuracy - Automatically gains fortune (+1 LUC) per level.

Elf - Mage

One of the hallmarks of the Elf race is their use of magic. No other class so exemplifies this than the Mage. Attacking up close or far away, targeting one foe or many, the Mage uses the power of magic to destroy their enemies. Their ability to harness the power of fire, water, earth, and wind makes the Mage a force to be reckoned with.

Characteristics:

- Awe-inspiring attacks - Single-target and area-of-effect attacks - Automatically gains intelligence (+1 INT) per level.

UoF Classes

Vail - Assassin

The Union’s answer to the Ranger is the Assassin. Like the Ranger, stealth and deception are the trademarks of a good Assassin. Ambush and evasion are staples of the Assassin. They also know how to frighten some monsters away. Assassins can disguise themselves as harmless creatures or as the enemy, further enabling their stealth.

Characteristics:

- Uses short blades and claw weapons - High evasion ability - Stealth and disguise - Automatically gains +1 DEX per level.

Vail - Pagan

Channeling spiritual forces allows the Pagan to unleash powerful magic-type attacks. Attacking up close or far away, targeting one foe or many, the Pagan uses spiritual magic to destroy their enemies. Their ability to harness the natural elements of fire, water, earth, and wind makes the Pagan a force to be reckoned with.

Characteristics:

- Awe-inspiring attacks - Single-target and area-of-effect attacks - Automatically gains intelligence (+1 INT) per level.

Vail - Oracle

Like the Human Priest, the Oracle relies on the spiritual nature of the Vail to heal allies. They can resurrect the dead, an extremely useful skill for keeping fallen comrades around and a must when Ultimate characters are in the party. Oracles also have a high resistance to magical attacks, making them a threat to Mages.

Characteristics:

- Curing powers - Ability to transform allies into powerful monsters - Ability to transform enemies into harmless animals - Automatically gains +1 Wisdom each level.

Nordein - Warrior

Like the Fighter, the Warrior is a standard melee combatant. Up close and personal is how Warriors prefer confrontation. Physical attack power is the focus of the Warrior, but focus solely on Strength. A certain amount of Magical Points (MP) is needed to power the Warrior’s devastating Special Skills.

Characteristics:

- Wide range of available weapons - Powerful physical attacks - Front-line brawler - Automatically gains +1 to Strength (STR) each level.

Nordein - Guardian

The Guardian is a tank. Guardians have high stamina and high hit points, enabling them to take a beating, but still stay standing. Guardians can take on multiple foes at the same time with little worry. Guardians also have the ability to provoke enemies into attacking them; a useful skill when in groups.

Characteristics:

- Uses shields, one-handed swords, and blunt weapons - High vitality and stamina - First into the fray - Automatically gains Reaction Defense boost and HP (+1 to REC) each level.

Nordein - Hunter

Hunters use ranged attacks to wound and slow the enemy as well as lower its attack power or stop it in its tracks. Hunters keep their distance in battle and should stay off of the front lines. Their Special skills allow them to literally rain death down upon their targets. Hunters also have high luck, enabling them to make critical hits more often than most other classes.

Characteristics:

- Uses axes, javelins, and bows - Distanced attacks - High accuracy - Automatically gains fortune (+1 LUC) per level.

Like i said, i can try and give you a good explanation of the UoF Classes, but as you can see, speaking for one fraction, also gives you the answer for the other one, since as the names differ, the strength and weakness for both is similar.

In my next blog i will try and explain to you the best party combinations and what each class is good for.
